It's really important to understand the individual motivation and priorities of each of your team members. We're very lucky that at MetLife we have really great processes to support us in understanding that throughout the year, and they're great to follow. 

But I also think really just sitting down, talking to your team, understanding what drives them, where they want to go with their career, is something that every leader of a team should do. And the more you do that, the more you'll understand them and be able to find the ways to support them in their career development.
