We have an ongoing partnership with the charity, Beam, a crowdfunding platform built to support homeless people across the country as they look for stable work. For every digital or hire made with 3Search, whether it be a contract job or permanent, we give a gift card to employers to donate to Beam and make a difference within the homeless community.
Throughout the month of February, we have raised £1,000 for this brilliant charity. The ultimate goal for all of us at 3Search is to keep up this momentum throughout the rest of 2023 and in the years to come. During the course of 2022, we donated over £40,000 to this extremely important cause and it is something that the team is extremely proud of.
Abegail, Eugene and Seun are three individuals we were able to help throughout the month of February. Take a look below to read their inspiring stories.
Abegail is a very family-orientated person, who feels at her happiest and most fulfilled when socialising with her friends and family. She enjoys meeting different people and learning about diverse cultures, which is a large reason why she would love to become a receptionist.
After being a single mum for many years, Abegail remains optimistic and really looks forward to the day she can work and be around other adults in her day-to-day life. This optimism was knocked after her second son, losing the confidence to get out there and find a job.
Now, with the support from Beam, Abegail feels she can push herself to new limits and use her communication skills to get out there and make a contribution to the world. To earn her own money, so she can take out her kids more, learn how to drive and gain her independence back again would mean the world to Abegail.
"It feels amazing knowing people want to help me succeed in my goals, it makes me feel warm inside."
Eugene is looking for a job within the construction industry. Previously, he has had 12 years of experience being a chef which has been an exciting journey, but it is time to start something new (although he still very much enjoys being in the kitchen!) It is safe to say that the pandemic has taught everyone just how important it is to find a stable job.
After overcoming 15 years of addiction, Eugene has now remained abstinent for 4 years, which is an incredible achievement. After completing his CSCS course, he would like to travel, and study for the Slinger Signaller course, and hopefully with the support from Beam, Eugene will be one step closer to a life of financial independence and happiness.
"It takes a long time to adjust to such a big life change, and starting this journey will really help me to build my confidence and self-worth."
Seun came over to England in 2011 and a few years later, was also joined byher daughter. Their housing situation has rarely ever been stable but they have managed to survive and keep going despite the difficult circumstances that often come into play.
The rising house prices have made it more challenging for Seun to rent a house by herself, so more recently, has been living in temporary housing with her daughter until they can finally find the dream place of their own.
The primary source of Seun's happiness and optimism is getting to be around her daughter when times get tough. She wishes for want both their lives to be full of happiness and the kind support of Beam brings them one step closer to achieving this.
"God bless everyone who has supported us along the way, we will forever be grateful for this."
A huge thank you to all of the employers we partner with for redeeming their gift cards and helping to bring these donations to those who really need them.
