Charlie Merrells, Amazon and Ecommerce Consultant, shares the best time to approach Amazon recruitment.
Ultimately, it comes down to the business being at a level where it says "we need to do something different to what we're doing today with Amazon." That means having somone bespoke focussed on making that work, and it might not just be Amazon, it might be other marketplaces.
But I think, fundamentally, when you're making that hire, you really have to think about why - what that new person is going to bring that you can't do today and what are the metrics that you're going to measure them against. And as well, I think it's who will they report into. Is it Commercial? Is it Marketing? Is it Finance? Because these differences do come into play in different businesses and influences how they view Amazon and what they think Amazon is. Then there is metrics that come off the back of all of that thinking, helping you decided who you want to get into the role and allows you to help them be successful.
I think pulling all that together, then gives you the opportunity to find the best candidate and move forward as quickly as possible.
