I think one of the biggest things is that burnout and high-performance culture kind of sound like flip sides of the same coin, but they're really quite different. You can have people working 60-hour weeks or even 100-hour weeks, and they're not burnt out at all. They're really committed to whatever they're doing, highly energised, and giving it their all.

At the same time, you can have people working much less than that and still experiencing signs of burnout, struggling to manage it. So I think the idea of burnout being related to how much you're working is not accurate. I think it's more about alignment. It's about people feeling that their work matters, that they matter, and that the effort they're putting into their jobs has a significant impact on their businesses.

Burnout can happen across a whole range of teams, and it can happen to almost anybody. But it's not really about the amount of hours you're putting into what you're doing.
