The Independent is a British online newspaper. Established in 1986 and originally published in print, they moved exclusively online in March of 2016.
Our work with The Independent
In order to facilitate the newspaper’s digital transformation, it was important for the business to develop its Commercial Data and Insights team.

Our talent search method for The Independent
On each hire, our specialist recruiters arranged a weekly call with The Independent to discuss the process. In each meeting, the team would update The Independent exactly on what searches we had carried out in the previous week and explain any challenges or market feedback we had received.
Given the nature of the industry, many of the senior roles required specific search criteria as each role needed to have a deep understanding of the media space.
For roles, such as the Senior Commercial Trading Manager, the team mapped the market before presenting their findings to the hiring manager. We then engaged the most relevant individuals with a tailored approach.
