Our product recruiters partnered with Pockit, an award-winning digital bank account, in November 2024. As a fast-scaling brand, they needed to hire a new Senior Product Manager role to build their new department in FinCrime, compliance and regulation.
The role had been open for some time and with other recruitment agencies when Pockit got in touch with Francesca Jackson. Due to the timing and length of the search, it was important to move quickly, so she ran an excellent recruitment process in just two-weeks.
Founded in 2014, Pockit was created to build a better banking alternative for customers left behind by high street banks. Over the years they have gone from milestone to milestone, reaching 500,000 customers in 2021.
In 2023, Pockit announced a $10m new funding round led by Puma Private Equity and The North East Development Capital Fund. This allowed them to expand their offering, including the development of a brand-new department in FinCrime, compliance and regulation.
The Senior Product Manager role had been live for a few months when specialist recruiter, Francesca Jackson, was engaged. Pockit were looking for someone with a specific background. To move quickly and achieve their goals, they needed a candidate from a start-up environment, with experience in FinCrime and acquisition.
These criteria meant that they had struggled to identify suitable candidates through direct applications or other recruitment agencies. The timing further complicated their talent search, as Pockit wanted to make an offer before Christmas. That's where Francesca stepped in.
Aware of their hard deadline on the 20th of December, Francesca set out an efficient recruitment process. Following a detailed briefing call, she set out a clear timeline to know what they needed to achieve and by when. Additionally, to ensure everyone stayed up to date on progress and feedback, Francesca established open channels of communication by creating a WhatsApp group for everyone to discuss.
To ensure there were no delays, Francesca completed screening calls with candidates before presenting shortlists. She then organised all interviews to make sure everything was as simple as possible for the hiring manager.
As a result of her planning, Francesca was able to fill the role with an excellent candidate in just over two-weeks. This was a week ahead of their deadline on the 20th of December.
