In the summer of 2024, our recruiters partnered with MOJU, a fast-growing FMCG brand creating performance drinks powered by nature. The drinks brand had reached a point in their growth where they needed to hire a more senior Category Controller into their team. However, the search for a permanent addition was taking longer than expected.
With their only Category Manager taking parental leave, it was important to move quickly to avoid a gap in the team. 3Search Director and interim specialist, Liz Hopkins, connected MOJU with an excellent contractor.
Founded in 2015 by two friends, MOJU set out to bring a bold, invigorating approach to health and wellness through powerful, nutrient-packed drinks. Their passionate team is dedicated to using the best of nature to fuel everyday performance, creating products that make wellness accessible and a natural part of life’s rhythm.
Having continued to grow over the past nine years, the business recognised the need to expand their team with a Category Controller. This senior hire would allow the brand to continue to maximise growth opportunities as they rise.
Recruitment for the Category Controller role was unfortunately taking longer than expected. Plus, with the only member of the business focussed on Category leaving on paternity leave, it was important to move quickly to avoid gaps in the team and continue business as usual. The hiring team were considering contract recruitment to cover the gap when Liz got in touch.
Having noticed MOJU’s Category Controller role live for some time, Liz knew a contractor could transform this process. As she had been in touch with MOJU’s Head of Talent in the past, Liz knew exactly what they were looking for in terms of talent. She shared an excellent candidate profile from her network with the team.
This candidate was the perfect fit for MOJU. With experience in similar, successful drinks brands, the contractor would have made an excellent addition to the team. Plus, thanks to their level of expertise and background, they could get started in the role immediately and make an impact.
MOJU’s Head of Talent agreed with Liz’s suggestion and worked closely with her to hire. Although the candidate was outside of their budget, Liz was able to coordinate an offer that was ideal for both parties. As the candidate was fresh from maternity leave herself, a 4-day work week worked perfectly for her.
Quick action from Liz allowed MOJU to continue operating with a full team, leaving no gaps in the business as they continue to search for their permanent solution.
