Our digital and marketing recruiters are long-term partners of leading pet food brand, Bella+Duke. When they suddenly needed a Freelance Designer to execute a project, the hiring team knew they could rely on us.
The requirements for this role were very niche as the Freelancer needed to be able to support on a specific CRM project. Specialist design recruiter, Yasmin Vachet, gave Bella+Duke access to her network of freelancers, finding an excellent candidate to execute the project.
Founded in 2016, Bella+Duke champion pet health and wellbeing with their raw pet food that is delivered straight to your door. They have grown rapidly since their launch and our recruiters have supported with digital marketing and product recruitment over the years.
In 2024, the marketing team were moving to a new, hyper-personalised automation marketing tool. As each pet is unique, the CRM Manager wanted to ensure that Bella+Duke communicated to each customer in a distinct way. To do this, they needed dedicated design resource to personalise each email journey.
The hiring team at Bella+Duke had been searching for the right Freelancer for some time before engaging Yasmin.
It was important that candidates had experience designing for CRM channels, as this would allow them to hit the ground running and complete the project within the allocated six months. However, this requirement was limiting their talent pool and applicants were hard to come by. They needed the support of a specialist design recruiter.
When Yasmin began working with the CRM Manager on this role, it was important that they moved quickly to meet their timelines. Their roadmap couldn’t go ahead until they had hired this Digital Designer. To allow Yasmin the time and resource to move at pace, Bella+Duke engaged our specialist recruitment agency on an exclusive basis.
While it’s true that this was a complicated brief, Yasmin was able to actively pitch the role to passive candidates. She knew exactly what would excite Designers – the interesting project, great brand and amazing team.
The successful candidate came from Yasmin’s network who trust her with their careers. They had been in conversation as the candidate had recently left their previous role. While they searched for a new permanent position, they were looking for a short-term contract to stay in employment.
This was the perfect opportunity for both Bella+Duke and the successful candidate. They had struggled with commuting in the past, so, as a fully remote job, it was a perfect opportunity for them.
We're pleased to say that the project was a success, and they have since offered them a permanent contract to continue the design evolution.
