The role
As the Senior Proposal Manager, you will play a critical role in driving their business development efforts by leading high-value, strategic proposals across the EMEA region. You will work collaboratively with technical experts, business leaders, and external partners to develop compelling, client-centric proposals that reflect their commitment to excellence.
This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the built environment sector, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex bids under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Proposal Management:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end proposal process for major bids, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal governance standards.
- Develop and execute proposal strategies, ensuring alignment with client needs and business objectives.
- Coordinate input from multidisciplinary teams, including technical, commercial, and legal specialists.
- Oversee production, quality assurance, and timely submission of high-quality proposals.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders during the proposal process.
- Facilitate bid/no-bid decisions in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Engage with external partners, subcontractors, and joint venture teams to ensure cohesive proposal delivery.
- Content Development:
- Develop compelling proposal content that clearly communicates our value proposition, differentiators, and technical expertise.
- Tailor proposal messaging and design to resonate with specific client needs and industry challenges.
- Maintain a library of reusable proposal templates, case studies, and boilerplate content.
- Market Insight and Strategy:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging client needs to inform proposal strategies.
- Support the development of client-focused marketing and business development materials.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Mentor and coach junior proposal team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Drive best practices in proposal management across the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in proposal management, business development, or a related role, preferably within the built environment consultancy sector.
- Proven track record of managing and winning large-scale, complex bids in EMEA markets.
- Experience working with public and private sector clients, including knowledge of procurement processes and frameworks.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with an eye for detail.
- Advanced knowledge of proposal tools and software (e.g., InDesign, CRM systems).
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to engage and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in English (additional languages relevant to the EMEA region are a plus).
