Growth Director

£120,000 - £160,000

London

Our client is a specialist nutrition brand on a mission to disrupt their category. The business has grown profitably and will soon end their latest financial year at £25m revenue. However, run rate has grown steeply to £40m over the last few months – and the business is targeting £50m for their next financial year, with a longer-term goal of £100m on the horizon.

In addition to their website, which is powered by Shopify and drives the majority of revenue, the business also trades through Amazon, TikTok and is starting to expand into new markets - including the US - through wholesale. 40% of revenue is driven through subscription - this will scale to 70% in the next few years.

To achieve these ambitious goals, they’re looking to hire a Growth Director to report directly to the CEO. This individual will own the core growth levers of subscription, internationalisation and data led customer insight, leveraging performance marketing, ecommerce and CRM – and play a crucial role in helping the business scale to the next level.

The role will be well resourced and there is an open dialogue on increasing spend, as long as the team hits CAC. However, profitable growth is a pre-requisite – so the successful hire needs to operate with prudent ownership of their marketing budget.

Candidates will be assessed against the following competencies:

Essential:

  • Track record leading growth marketing in a D2C subscription brand. Will have played a significant role in scaling one or more businesses of relevant and equivalent size and scale.
  • Data-led, understands the core growth levers of performance marketing, ecommerce and CRM. Likely to have developed specialist experience in performance marketing.
  • Able to build and lead a new team and implement organisational culture.
  • Culture fit: empathetic leadership; hardworking and mission led; delivers meaningful work through meaningful relationships; a team player that looks after the people around them; willing to go the extra mile.

Desirable:

  • Has experience scaling businesses in a range between c£1m to c£4m revenue per month.
  • A track record in international expansion – ideally including the US.

The role will be based in London for 4 days during probation, then 3 days thereafter. Compensation will be structured accordingly:

  • Base salary: between £120,000 - 160,000.
  • Bonus: significant bonus potential, payable upon delivery of growth targets.
