What does an Influencer Marketing Manager do?


An Influencer Marketing Lead (sometimes known as a Partnerships Manager) is responsible for developing and executing social media campaigns in partnership with Influencers and Content Creators. The role is responsible for managing relationships with Influencers, working with them to create content that maximises brand awareness.


Key responsibilities

While the role can vary in different businesses, the main duties are as follows:

  • Identifying partners: Source, communicate and negotiate contracts with Influencers, Content Creators and Micro Influencers. The Manager will identify types of Influencers who are best positioned to promote your products to your target audience.
  • Build relationships: Maintain strong, authentic partnerships with Influencers to ensure high-quality content production.
  • Develop the influencer marketing strategy: Work with the Head of Social and wider marketing team to develop the strategy. 
  • Execute campaigns: Work closely with the marketing team and partner with Influencers to ensure the timely completion of campaigns. 
  • Report on results: Monitor engagement rates to report on influencer marketing campaign performance. They will report these results back to the marketing team and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor trends: Stay on top of the latest trends and best practices in the influencer and social media marketing industry.


Skills and requirements

Although the role requirements will vary from business to business, here's what makes a good Influencer Marketing Manager:

  • Minimum of three years of experience working in social media marketing, ideally with exposure working with Influencers
  • Experience managing and executing campaigns across a variety of social media platforms
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • The ability to work in a fast pace environment, with a flexible approach to work
  • An analytical yet creative mind

Typical salary of an Influencer Marketing Lead

Salaries can vary based on a number of factors, including business size, team structure and industry. Nevertheless, the average permanent, full time salary for an Influencer Marketing Manager is £40,000 - £60,000. This means that a contractor can expect a day rate of £200 - £350.
