Why download our 2025 salary guide?

Our Annual Pay & Hiring Survey revealed that 67% of Product Managers intend to search for a new role in 2025. With pay as the top motivator for these searches, businesses must review their product pay brackets to attract and retain talent.

Our 2025 guide reveals the average salary data for all product management job titles - from Junior Product Manager through to Chief Product Officer (CPO). Downloading the guide will prepare you for any hire you need to make, whether you're growing or backfilling a vacant role.

Salaries have increased

According to our survey data, pay brackets saw an average 7.7% increase in 2024. This is slightly higher than the data reported by the ONS, who reported an average rise of 5.2% across the nation. If you haven't recruited for product management roles in the past year, we highly recommend salary benchmarking. Your perspective on the market might be different to reality, costing you the opportunity to hire.

Benchmarking pay is also incredibly important to retain talent. Nearly half of all product talent who completed our survey reported receiving a pay rise. If you haven't reviewed your team's salaries in the past year, they are highly likely to move jobs.

Economic pressures are continuing to impact individuals and candidates are relying on improved salaries to meet increasing costs. The cost-of-living crisis “led to an erosion of disposable income, as households [...] are increasingly relying on their savings to meet their expenses.” Underpaying your employees will certainly lead to attrition.

What influences product salaries?

A number of factors have caused product management pay to rise in 2024 - learn more about this in our complete Annual Pay & Hiring Report. However, there are other factors that also dictate the size of compensation packages, including:

  • Business size: The size of the organisation and product team significantly influences pay. Commonly, smaller businesses have smaller budgets to hire. However, they often provide stronger benefits packages - offering larger or more frequent bonuses, learning and development opportunities or increased flexibility.
  • Sector: The industry you work in also plays a part in determining salary. Sectors that require technical knowledge (e.g. HealthTech or FinTech) offer higher salaries than more accessible industries (e.g. retail).
  • Years of experience: Companies can also expect to pay more for more experienced Product Managers. For instance, a Product Manager with 5 years of experience can expect more pay than someone who is searching for their first job.

Our product salary guide breaks down salary bands for each seniority level and industry.

2025 product recruitment trends

Our salary survey revealed that 55% of hiring managers would be pursuing recruitment in 2025. This increases to 63% when looking at just those within product management. As a result, we expect product talent to be highly sought-after, especially with recruitment increasing as the year progresses.

How to attract and retain product management talent

With two-thirds of product talent planning to move jobs, it's crucial to have a talent attraction and retention strategy in place. To help you prepare for the year ahead, we asked product talent why they're intending to search for a new role. The top 3 motivators were:

  1. Increased pay
  2. A new challenge
  3. Better company culture

Product Managers are clearly prioritising career growth in 2025. To retain talent, team leaders should consider how they can ensure the role is exciting with achievable goals. Clarifying the growth opportunities in the current role will help employees realise their potential with you.

If you are looking for external talent, building a credible employer brand will be key to capturing interest. Job applicants are interested in understanding your company culture, so make it accessible to them.
