Why download our salary guide?

The results from our Annual Pay & Hiring Survey revealed that 80% of CRM marketers intend to search for a new role in 2025. With increased pay as the number one priority in a job search, brands must review salaries to continue retaining and attracting staff this year.

Our 2025 guide reveals the average salary data for all job titles in the CRM skill set. Downloading the guide will prepare you for any hire you need to make - planned or not.

Pay has continued to rise

In 2024, customer retention marketing salaries continued to rise. Our data reveals an average increase of 7.7% over the last 12 months, with the ONS reporting an increase of 5.2% across the nation. We expect salaries to increase moderately in 2025, with the changes introduced in April 2025 are restricting growth. However, as candidates actively seek higher pay, businesses will need to carefully balance both considerations to attract and retain talent throughout the year.

Employees continue to rely on increased pay to combat economic pressures, so it was positive to hear that half of CRM professionals received a pay raise and bonus last year. However, our survey results show that over 40% of CRM marketers feel underpaid for the work they do. Those who did not receive higher compensation will be considering new opportunities.

What dictates customer marketing pay brackets?

Outside of the economy and policy changes, there are three main factors that decide salary:

  1. Company size
  2. Industry
  3. Experience

#1 Company size

The size of an organisation often dictates the budget available to hire. While start-ups usually have smaller budgets, they usually offer sign-on bonuses and increased role flexibility.

#2 Industry

The sector can also have a significant impact on customer relationship management salaries. Those in niche, technical industries (such as SaaS) will often be higher paid than those in more accessible sectors (such as retail). The former requires specific knowledge to ensure the marketing strategy meets regulations. These individuals tend to be harder to find, so higher salaries are available.

#3 Experience

The skills and experience of an employee largely dictates their salary. Those in manager roles, with some years of experience in developing and implementing customer retention strategies, will have a much lower pay bracket than a Head of Marketing. Senior leaders with experience managing teams can command higher salaries.

2025 recruitment trends in CRM

55% of hiring managers told us they would be hiring in 2025 in our salary survey. We expect this number to rise throughout the next 12 months as the economy improves. Goldman Sachs predict “inflationary pressures to ease through 2025”, resulting in higher spending from consumers and businesses alike. So, we expect recruitment to build a steady momentum.

How to attract and retain customer retention marketers

Outside of pay, there are three main motivations for a 2025 job search:

  1. Better company culture
  2. Improved career prospects
  3. A new challenge

CRM Managers are clearly focused on building a strong, long-lasting career in 2025. When writing job descriptions, be clear with the opportunity. Share your vision for the role's progression and the timeframe in which candidates can expect promotions.

Plus, in conversations with candidates, our recruiters find that ‘stability’ is at the forefront of their minds. Employees want reassurance that their jobs are safe because of high levels of redundancies over the past two years. Being confident in your decisions and offering candidates the salary their expecting will help demonstrate job security.
