Why do you need to download our salary guide?

To attract and retain talent in 2025, benchmarking salaries is going to be critical. Our Annual Pay & Hiring Survey revealed that two-thirds of ecommerce professionals will be searching for a new role in 2025. As a result, whether brands intend to hire or not, it's highly likely that they will be pursuing ecom recruitment this year.

Employees have told us that their main motivation for moving roles is an increased salary, meaning the most successful brands will be those that offer a competitive salary. To make sure you're prepared, it's important to benchmark your ecommerce pay brackets. Our guide reveals salary bands for all Commerce Managers, from Amazon to marketplace to general ecom.

Ecom pay continues to rise

Overall we saw permanent, full time salaries increase by an average of 7.7% over the past 12 months. Those in the ecommerce sector have felt the effects of this more than most. With 60% of online retail managers reporting a pay rise, the sector had the highest number of salary increases in 2024.

Bonuses were also incredibly common, with 53% having received a bonus last year - 9% higher than average.

What influences salary brackets?

Director of ecommerce recruitment, Adrian Ramani, says there is a greater demand for ecom talent. This has driven salaries up.

"As revenue growth and company roadmaps become more ecom-heavy, there has been a greater demand for ecommerce professionals. There’s a lot more at stake now, which means it’s high on the agenda to pay people better to keep them and/or to attract better talent."

Average ecommerce and Amazon salaries

With so many changes, it can be difficult to keep up. The average ecom management salary in the United Kingdom ranges between £50,000 - £69,999. In the meantime, here are some example job titles and the market average salary.

2025 ecommerce recruitment trends

We expect 2025 to be a busy year in ecommerce recruitment. Our salary survey results show that 55% of brands intend to hire this year, with this number rising to 61% when just considering the ecom sector.

Plus, we expect hiring to only increase as the year progresses. Currently, it's difficult to plan business and talent strategies because of continued political uncertainty. Once businesses understand the impact of policy changes coming in April, they will be able to hire more confidently. Goldman Sachs economists predict “inflationary pressures to ease through 2025”, resulting in higher spending from consumers and businesses alike.

How to attract applicants in 2025?

Outside of pay, the most important factors for ecommerce candidates in 2025 are:

  1. Flexible working policies
  2. Company culture
  3. Career development opportunities

As we've established, the most successful companies will be those that offer competitive salaries. However, with pay standardising across the sector, it's important you also offer a healthy work-life balance, a positive company culture and create a clear career path. Without each of these elements, you will struggle to attract ecom talent.
