What does an Amazon Manager do?


As a member of the ecom team, the Amazon Manager is responsible for managing a brand's Amazon Seller Central account. Their main aim is to grow brand traffic and revenue through the channel by optimising listings and advertising.


Key responsibilities

While the role looks different in each business, the core responsibilities include:

  • Oversee operations: Day-to-day management of the Amazon Vendor/Seller Account, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Manage product listings: Create and optimise product listings, including titles, descriptions and images.
  • Develop strategies: Own, develop and lead the execution of the brand's Amazon advertising strategies.
  • Monitor metrics: Monitor account health by tracking performance metrics and customer experience. Analyse this data to identify growth opportunities, share actionable insights with the business and address any issues.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with teams across the supply chain to ensure stock availability and the achievement of sales targets.
  • Manage external relationships: Manage relationships with Amazon and agencies.


Skills and requirements

Although the role requirements will vary from business to business, here's what makes a good Amazon National Account Manager:

  • Proven experience in the ecommerce industry, ideally within account management
  • Knowledge and experience of the Amazon marketplace platform
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of managing operations and logistics

Salary expectations

The average salary for a permanent Amazon Account Manager is £50,000 - £65,000. For a contractor, the day rate is between £300 - £375.
